Samuel arrived in South Australia in June 1854, on board the “Trafalgar" with his father and some of his siblings[1][2]:
Samuel was a musician, and had also been a barman at the General Havelock Hotel on Carrington Street, Adelaide. [3][4]
According to the police report[5], Samuel committed suicide by cutting his own throat. His death is recorded as May 1, 1884[6] but the police records indicated that he died the day before the inquest which was held on the 1st.
