Robert is assumed to be a son of John Lowthroppe born c. 1513 at Harthill Wapentake, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.[1]
Marriage and Children
Robert married to Ellen, assumed to be Ellen Aston, daughter of Thomas Aston, from Fole or Checkley in Staffordshire.[1] Circumstantial evidence is the mention of Richard Ashton (Aston) in both the wills of Robert and Ellen.[1] Robert and Ellen lived at Cherry Burton Par., East Riding, Yorkshire, England. They had four known children: three sons and a daughter.

Death and Legacy
Robert left a will dated 16 July 1558 and proved in the Prerogative Court of York 20 Oct 1558.[1]
Wife Ellen left a will dated 12 February 1572/3, and was buried on 8 March 1572/3 in Cherry Burton, Yorkshire, England.[1]
