There is no evidence she married Robert Hodgeson on May 1, 1560 at Cherry Burton
Margaret is mentioned in her father's will 1558, in which she was left a property in Beverley, 40 marks, several cows, and a list of furniture, besides a share in the residue of the estate.[1] There is no mention of a husband at that time but her mother's will 12 February 1572/1573 names "Robt Hodgson my sonne… my daughter Margaret his wife… Elline Hodgeson there daughter… Jane Hodgeson there daughter… Eliz Hodgeson there daughter". (Abstract on Ellen Lowthropp's profile).[2]
No burial found for Margaret on 15 March 1572. She is mentioned in her mother's will dated 12 February 1573. There is a burial of Robert Hodgson, probably her husband, on 20 or 28 February 1586/1587 at Cherry Burton[3] and a burial of a Widow Hodgson, which may be Margaret, on 6 January 1587/1588.[4] Robert Hodgson left a will proved 5 October 1587 which may give further information.[5]
