Charles Lucas was born circa 1730, in Brunswick county, Virginia. During the American Revolutionary War, Charles served in the Brunswick county, Militia. At this time in our country's history, men like Charles were not enlisted soldiers. They conducted their lives with farming, or worked at occupations, until called for specific duties to protect the lives of their communities, after which they resumed their activities of daily lives.
Records of the Daughters of American Revolution indicate that Charles' wife's name was Tabitha and that his son, Edmund Lucas, married Elizabeth Hobbs.
