NOTES: add 06 Oct 2023 - Angela (Jones) Harlan There is a lot of erroneous information on the family of Charles Lucas Sr

Charles Lucas, Sr, Charles Lucas Jr, Capt John Lucas, Parker Lucas and William Lucas all served in the Rev War from Montgomery and Giles Co VA. There is a historical marker in Giles Co VA with a list of all the Rev War Soldiers who served from Giles Co VA. All 5 of these names appear on the marker.

In a book titled: Giles County Virginia History and Families on p 33 there is a Map of Revolutionary War Soldiers Homes. The homes are maked by these numbers.

  1. 48 - Charles Lucas Jr
  2. 49 - Charles Lucas Sr
  3. 50 - Capt John Lucas
  4. 51- Parker Lucas
  5. 52 - William Lucas

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Charles by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Charles:

Charles and Kathleen also had a daughter Sarah who married Sherrod Adkins. Please see Sarah (Lucas) Adkins who is currently shown with the wrong parents.
I have some bad news, this is not the son of William Lucas and Martha Johnson, 3 of their sons Charles included married Wyche women.

The good news is better, i know this was from old gedcoms from LDS and this Site downloaded them and stitched them together but the the connection to William Lucas and Martha Johnson is wrong the rest is right i checked, sourced and connected where it is right.

The birth date or rather christening date of December 25, 1719 and the death date on that site is right. The father is John and grandfather James, grandmother Elinor and likely related to William Lucas.
