Biography
Eliza E. Lucas was born in Illinois circa 1845 (from census) the daughter of A. Lucas, born November 8, 1809 in Freetown, Massachusetts and Mahala (Hayden) Lucas, born November 7, 1820, in Mentor, Ohio. [1]
Eliza is found on the United States Census of 1860, at the age of 15, living with her parents in White Rock, Ogle county, Illinois. [2] The census taker recorded her mother's name as "Mary," a nickname for Mahala.
On October 11, 1871, in Ogle count, Illinois, Eliza married Benjamin F. Stewart. [3]
