Researcher's Notes

Sources differ regarding her date of death: Another date given is 1813. Location is the same.

  • (Joseph Martin married his second wife, Susannah Graves on Feb 24, 1784 after the death of Sarah Lucas. Historians say that she died of smallpox shortly after the birth of her daughter Sarah, "Sally" Martin Hughes. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/200301411/sarah-sally-martin. A date of death of 1813 for Sarah Lucas is highly doubtful. Joseph Martin and Sarah Lucas were not divorced. Joseph was widowed.) -Hans Nielsen

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sally by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sally:

Yes i think we need more sets of eyes.
Lucas-6223 and Lucas-574 appear to represent the same person because: Same/similar name... the poor man has too many wives, and multiples with same/similar names :-)

Warning: Check the data. A mother's death date (Lucas-574 died 17 Mar 1782) should not be before one of her children's birth dates (Martin-22540 born 1797) .
