Janice Louise Ludwig was born on 4 Nov 1913 in Waverly, Cattaraugus, New York, USA. She was a daughter of Joshua and Ioanthe Vandermark Ludwig.[1][2]The family later moved to Forty Fort, Pennsylvania.[3]
At some point Joshua separated from his family. He is not mentioned in a notice of Janice's sister Helene's marriage in 1937 or in notices published when her brother Eugene was killed in action in 1944.[4][5]
Janice married Nicholas Francis Davies on March 13, 1940.[6][7] At the time of their marriage Nicholas worked as a manager at the American Stone Company.[7] They spent some time living in Washington where Janice was an under clerk with the chief engineer's office.[8][9] Her mother, brother, sister, and brother-in-law also spent time in the Washington area.
In 1950, Janice and Nicholas -- and Nicholas's mother, Nina -- were living in Takoma Park, Montgomery County, Maryland. Janice worked for the US Army; Nicholas was working for the US Navy. No children were listed in this census listing.[10]
Janice died Dec. 6, 2000 based upon the FindAGrave.com memorial.
