In the 1830 Census, Archibald and his family lived in Tazewell County, Virginia[4] (see research note). In his household are nine people (including Archibald):
One male age 5 - 9 years.
One male age 30 - 39 years (this is probably Archibald).
One male age 40 - 49 years.
Two females age under 5 years (these are probably their daughters Rebecca and Martha).
Two females age 5 - 9 years (these are probably their daughters Surilda and Chloe).
One female age 10 - 14 years.
One female age 20 - 30 years (this is probably Elizabeth).
In the 1850 Federal Census, Elizabeth and Archibald lived in Mercer County, Virginia[5]. Also in their household were five children[5].
In the 1860 Federal Census, Elizabeth and Archibald continued living in Mercer County, Virginia[6]. Also in their household was their daughter Elizabeth, their son James, Archibald's nephew George - future husband of their daughter Elizabeth, and a ten year old girl named Juletta Lusk (relationship unknown, but her surname Lusk is the same as Elizabeth's)[6].
In the 1870 Federal Census, Elizabeth and Archibald continued living in Mercer County, now part of West Virginia[7]. Also in their household is their daughter Nancy, and Nancy's daughter Eddie Jane[7].
Elizabeth passed away on 11 December 1875 in Mercer County, West Virginia at the age of 73 years 8 months and 4 days[1]. Elizabeth is buried in a family cemetery located near Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia[8].
Based on her husband's will (see transcription in the research notes on his profile page), she and Archibald had eight children together:
10 April 1802 is what has been entered on her Find-a-Grave profile[8]. Unfortunately the associated photo cuts off some of the birth date that is engraved for her on the grave marker and it is difficult to see the month and year.
7 April 1802 is the result of subtracting the age given on her death record (73 years, 8 months, 4 days) from her death date[1].
Middle Name and Nickname
A middle name ("Ann") and nickname ("Annie") have been entered on this profile for Elizabeth, but there are not yet any sources that support those names.
