Biography

This profile is part of the Lutz Name Study.

Peter Lutz was baptised 12 Mar 1751 in Kreuzwertheim, Germany. He was a son of George Michael Lutz and Ann Catherine (Schaaf) Lutz or Anna Walpurgis (Wiessler) Lutz:

He married Mary Ricker, a daughter of Jacob Ricker.

His family emigrated to Pennsylvania to make a life in the "New World" as part of a large contingent of Germans which were settling in Pennsylvania at the time. They spent several years in Pennsylvania working to pay off their passage and then migrated further north, to what was then Nova Scotia Colony. They landed at "The Bend" on June 3, 1766 aboard the ship "Lovey"[1] and made farms and homes there.

Peter settled first in Salisbury Parish, Westmorland County then in Coverdale Parish, Albert County where he raised a family.

The will of Peter Lutz was proven at Hillsborough on April 1, 1825 leaving his property to his wife Mary and his grandson William.[2]
