Biography

Eliza Ann was born in 1837 to Joseph Lyne & Rebecca nee Page at Glen Stuart.

On 3 FEB 1853, 17 year old Anne Lyne (sic) marries 24 year old William Wood at St George Church, Magill, South Australia.

She died in 1932 at the age of 95

Research Notes

Family legend says that Anne was the first white child born on Kangaroo Island. This is quite questionable. See comment box.

Re: "First white child born on the Island" - should be dismissed unless there is a credible source. Glen Stuart is considered to be a location near Adelaide. There were several births - both on Kangaroo Island and on the mainland - prior to June 1837.

Lyne-242 and Lynes-65 appear to represent the same person because: There are quite a few errors that need to be corrected in this family. Confusion exists around Elizabeth Ann LYNES, Eliza Ann LYNE and Eliza Ann WOOD
