Johanna came to America as a servant of John Mallet. When John's first wife died, John married her. [2]
She could not read or write, she was perhaps was a peasant woman. There is a story told of her, that she was strong enough to carry a wooden plow on her shoulder to John, who was on Toilsome Hill, some three or four miles north of their home.[2]
The children of Johannah and John were:
Joanna Mallet, widow of John, died 16 September 1764 at the age of 101.[1][4]
Joanna is buried in the Old Stratfield Cemetery, Bridgeport, Connecticut.[1]

In ye name of God, Amen. I Johanna Mallet of Stratford in ye county of Fairfeld being far advanced in age and knowing yt ye time of my departuare draws near but thro ye goodness of God I am of sound mind and memory think it is best to make this my Last Will and Testament, and first I give my soul into ye hands of God who gave it and my body to Return to ye dust to a decent burial and as to what worldly goods and estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I freely dispose of ye same as followeth -
And first my Will is all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses being first paid and satisfied out of my estate.
Item - I freely give unto my Loveing son, John Mallet, ye whole of what shall be due and unpaid at ye Time of my death on one Certain Bond given to me by my Son Peter Mallet now dec'd said bond it for four hundred pounds old Tenor conditioned for Two hundred pounds old Tenor to be to him forever.
Item, all the rest of my estate of what nature or kindsoever I freely give unto my two Sons namely David Mallet and John Mallet in ye Proportion as followeth to say Two Third parts thereof to my sd son David and one third part thereof to my said son John Mallet they having done considerable for me toward taking care of me and providing for my support.
The rest of my Children haveing had already ye full of what I think they ought to have, therefore I do not give them anything more at this time, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Two Sons David and John Mallet to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament, in witness whereof I have set my hand & Seal this 18th day of March, A. D. 1753
