Nehemiah Lyon was a deacon. He received and transmitted donations for the relief of Boston, MA. He represented Woodstock at Hartford during the Revolution, and he was a Deputy to the General Assembly. There was a Nehemiah Lyon from Connecticut who fought in the Revolutionary War, as well as one from Massachusetts. And one from Connecticut who fought in the French and Indian War 1755-62 as 1st Lt., under Col. Eliphalet Dyer.
After the death of Mehitable on 13 April 1789, Nehemiah married the widow Elizabeth Squires on 18 December 1794. Elizabeth died in 1804.
Nehemiah died (age 87) on 1 October 1807 in East Woodstock, Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, United States.[4] He is buried in East Woodstock Cemetery in Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut.[5]
