V Ital Records of Josiah Lyon: Josiah is the third born child and son of Ephraim Lyon and Abigail Crosby.[1] He was likely born in Roxbury, Mass., as he was baptized there on Sept. 19, 1713. He married, March 29, 1737, Deborah Fisher, of Dedham (Fisher Geneology). He resided in Shrewsbury and later Grafton. Dedham church records show that he and Deborah were "dismissed on Oct. 7, 1739 to Mr. Whitney's church on a new plantation, Nichtawog." The names of Josiah and Deborah and of several of their children are found in "Worcester County warnings". Josiah served as a private from May 10 to Dec. 17, 1775, in the Company of Capt. James Chapman, of New London, his company a component of the Sixth Regiment. It was reorganized as the Tenth Continental Regiment the following year.[2] Death date and place for Josiah and Deborah are not currently known.
