James Lyons was enumerated at Henderson County, North Carolina for the August 11, United States Census, 1850. He was noted as born in 1848 in North Carolina as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Leander Lyons, female Metilda Lyons, male Miles Lyons, male Henry Lyons, male (female) J M Lyons and male (female) Lyons.[1]

James Lyons was enumerated at Post Office Cherry Field, Henderson County, North Carolina for the August 17, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1848 and marked as having attended school within the year as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male William L Lyons, male Milford Lyons, male Henry Lyons, female Ann Lyons, female Jane Lyons, female Sarah Lyons, female Matha Lyons, male John Lyons and male Baxter Lyons.[2]

He was noted as at home, born 1848 in North Carolina and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self William L Lyon, wife Elisabeth C Lyon, daughter Selena A Lyon, daughter Fannie M Lyon, daughter Maggie D Lyon and son Oscar H Lyon.[3]

James Wesley Lyon was listed as the father of Joseph Clifford Lyon who was born July 9, 1894 in Abbeville, Abbeville County, South Carolina. The mother was listed as Frances Josephine Pruitt.[4]

James W Lyon was enumerated as head of the household in Dunn's Rock Township, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the June 14, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer and born April 1848 in North Carolina. He had been married for twelve years. Also included in the household are wife Josaphine Lyon, son Leander Lyon, son Willis Lyon, son Henry Lyon, son Cliford Lyon, daughter Mary Lyon and son Harvey Lyon as seen in an image of the original census.[5]

James Lyon was enumerated as head of the household at Martin, Anderson County, South Carolina for the April 27, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1848 in South Carolina and had been married twenty-two years. He was a farmer on a general farm and an owner as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Josephene Lyon, son Leander Lyon, son Willis Lyon, son Henry Lyon, son Clifford Lyon, daughter Mary Lyon, son Harvey Lyon, daughter Eula Lyon, son Carl Lyon and daughter Julian Lyon.[6]

James Wesley Lyon was listed as the husband of Josephine Pruitt Lyon who died February 6, 1945 in Anderson, Anderson County, South Carolina. The father was listed as Willis Lt. Pruitt and the mother Mary Pennell.[7]

James Westley Lyon was listed as the father of Frank Willis Lyon who died February 6, 1945 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina. The mother was listed as Francis J. Pruitt and the wife Julia E. Fowler.[8]

James Wesley Lyon was listed as the father of Dean Harvey Lyon who died July 13, 1965 in Anderson, Anderson County, South Carolina. The mother was listed as Josephine Pruitt and the wife Lelia Ashley Lyon.[9]
