Biography

Fannie L. was born April 30, 1870 in Transylvania County, North Carolina to father Lenord Lyons and mother Elizabeth Nicholson.[1]

Fannie M Lyon was enumerated as daughter at Catheys Creek, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the June 10, United States Census, 1880. She was noted as born 1871 in North Carolina and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self William L Lyon, wife Elisabeth C Lyon, daughter Selena A Lyon, son James W Lyon, daughter Maggie D Lyon and son Oscar H Lyon.[2]

Fannie Lyon wed A. H. Gillespie September 5, 1889 in Transylvania County, North Carolina.[3]

Fannie M Gilespie was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Cathey's Creek Township, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the June 8, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born April 1871 in North Carolina and had been married eleven years. She was the mother of four children of which all were still living as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Alfred H Gilespie, daughter Murtle O Gilespie, daughter Iler S Gilespie, son Jason S Gilespie and son Clifford E Gilespie.[4]

Fannie M Gilespie was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Catheys Creek, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the April 30, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1872 in North Carolina and had been married twenty years. She was the mother of six children of which five were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Alfred H Gilespie, daughter Myrtle O Gilespie, daughter Ida L Gilespie, son Jason L Gilespie, son Clifford E Gilespie, daughter Elizabeth A Gilespie and sister-in-law Manny L Lyon.[5]

Fannie M Gillespie was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Catheys Creek Township, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the January 27, United States Census, 1920. She was noted as born 1871 in North Carolina and married as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Alford H Gillespie, son Eugine C Gillespie and daughter Aslee Gillespie.[6]

Fannie Lyons was listed as the mother of Ida Gillispie who died November 7, 1925 in Cathey Creek, Transylvania County, North Carolina. The father was listed as A. H. Gillispie.[7]

Fannie L. Gillespie died December 13, 1935 in Brevard, Transylvania County, North Carolina. She was a housewife and married. Her husband was listed as A. H. Gillespie. She was buried December 15, 1935 in Brevard, North Carolina.[1]
