Biography
Date estimated based on children's birth date and parent's birth dates.
Mary married Lawrence Booth on 19 April 1635 at St Peter, Bradford, Yorkshire.[1]
Research Note
Added source for marriage given, but Mary is not likely to be the mother of the children who were born before this marriage. They may be the children of Mary Mallinson who is also attached as wife of Lawrence. Mary's husband is said to have died in 1639, but there was a Lawrence Booth of Bradford prosecuted at the Wakefield Quarter Sessions on 6 July 1655 for creating a disturbance in church, so Mary may have been the wife of this younger Lawrence Booth.[2] There was a "Lawrence Booth of Bradford, younger" buried 3 April 1667 at Bradford[3][4] so there were still at least two Lawrence Booths alive after 1639, as there is also a burial in 1658.
Mary may not be the daughter of the parents attached here. If she was aged 50 at marriage as given here, she would be likely to be a widow and her maiden name would not be Booth.
Booth and Lister were very common names in Bradford and further research may show other possibilities. Other marriages for a Lawrence Booth - 10 May 1619 to Sara Smyth[5]
