Biography
Esther Mabee was born 7 April 1815 in Turkey Point, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada. Her parents were Pelham Mabee and Mary (Layman) Mabee.[1]
Esther (aged 17) married Curtis Griffin on 13 September 1832 in London District, Upper Canada.[2] Known children of Esther and Curtis, all born in Canada except the last two and they were born in Michigan, United States:
In 1850, Esther (aged 35) and Curtis (aged 46), Mason, lived in Redford, Wayne, Michigan, United States, with their children: Helen (aged 17), Mary Ann (aged 14), Roxelana (aged 10), Joseph (aged 5), William (aged 5), and Alice, (aged 3).[17]
In 1860, Esther (aged 45) and Curtis (aged 56), Mason, lived in Redford, Wayne, Michigan, United States, with their children: Joseph (aged 15), William (aged 15), Alice, (aged 12), Emily (aged 10), and Melissa (aged 1).[18]
In 1870, Esther (aged 56) and Curtis (aged 66), Farmer, lived in Ecorse, Wayne, Michigan, United States, with their children: Roxey, (aged 22), Emma (aged 20), and Mina (aged 12).[19]
Esther passed on 5 March 1875 and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Wyandotte, Wayne County, Michigan, USA.[1]
Research Notes
Esther's headstone was engraved with died aged 60 years 10 months, however, using the date of birth provided by Find A Grave, Esther would have died aged 59 years 11 months.
