Ann "Kate" MacGlashan's parentage is unknown. She may be the daughter of Alexander MacGlashan and Janet Douglas.
She immigrated with her husband from Glenquaich, Perthshire, Scotland to N. Easthope, Perth, Ontario, Canada circa 1848.
She appears on the Ontario census on 14 Feb 1852 in N. Easthope: Living with son, John Anderson. Ann showed as age 70, widow. Also living with them are Janet Headrick, 16, and Duncan McLeish, 9 -- her grandchildren by daughter Ann.
She and Duncan were the parents of seven children: Christian (m. Thomas Cameron), Janet (m. Peter "Brock" Crerar), Catherine (m. John "Shanty" Stewart), Ann (m. Robert Headrick), Elizabeth (m. John Fraser), Duncan and John (m. Jessie Murray).
