Elizabeth MacKay was born in East Zorra Township, Canada West on May 27, 1842 to Peter MacKay and Lily MacKay (Munro) both of Scotland.
Elizabeth, then 29, married Andrew MacKay, 32, on January 13, 1876 in East Zorra Township, Ontario, Canada. Witnesses at the wedding were Hugh McKay of Woodstock, Ontario, and Donald McKay of Strathallan, Ontario.[1]
Elizabeth and Andrew had 4 children, Peter Albert MacKay, Charles MacKenzie MacKay, Lily Munro MacKay, and Elizabeth Ethel MacKay.
They lived at 43 Vansittart Avenue, Woodstock, Ontario for many years. Elizabeth passed away there at the age of 80 on April 3, 1926 from arteriosclerosis.[2]
She rests in section 4 at Woodstock, Presbyterian Cemetery on Vansittart Ave in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
