On the 15 Apr 1910 census of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, he is a machinist in a machine shop. He owned his home and was living with his wife, their two children, his mother, and his uncle.[3]
On the 5 Jan 1920 of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, he is a machinist working at a woodworking company, living with his wife and their two children, in a home he owned.[4]
In 1926 voter rolls of Orange County, California, he is listed as a machinist.[5]
On the 1 Apr 1930 census of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, he is a machinist at a pump works, living at the home he owned at 1327 East 1st with his wife and their two children.[6]
In 1942 voter rolls of Orange County, California, he is again listed as a machinist.[5]
Merton died on 17 Jul 1950 in Orange County, California.[1] He is buried in Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, Orange County, California.[7]
Notes
On the 1910 census, the uncle is "William Mac Claren," widowed, age 98, born about 1812 in England. William's parents were both born in England also. Because William and his sister-in-law Mary are 34 years apart in age, I didn't add William to Merton's family, - S. Primbsch[3]
