Euphemia was born on the Grishernish, Duirinish, Isle of Skye, Inverness-shire Scotland, on 12 December 1879.[1][2]
Euphemia, aged 25, married David Francis Robson, 28, a Spirit Salesman, at Patrick, Lanark on 30 August 1907.[3][4]
At the time of the 1911 Census, David was away from home. Euphemia and their two children were at Sydenham, London. David's mother, Charlotte was with them.[4]
Research Notes
Birth date: Although at the time of her marraige, on 30 August 1907, an age of 25 was recorded (suggesting a birth year of 1881-1882) and in the1911 Census, on 2 April that year, an age of 28 was recorded (suggesting a birth year of 1882-1883), the birth registration has 12 December 1879. There is high confidence in the birth registration as the place of birth matches the 1911 Census and both Euphemia's parents exactly match the marriage record. Chris Orme, 6 Apr 2020
Surname: The birth registration has MacLennan while the marriage record has McLennan. This is no cause for concern! Mc is just an abbreviated form of Mac, which was often written M'c (sometimes even M'). Other characters were also used to indicate abbreviation including two dots under the c).[5]
