Somerled (Sorley) /MACDONALD; a son of Alastair Og MacDonald

Birth about 1305 in Scotland [1]

Death: 1397 Leinster Province, Ireland [2]

Somerled (Sorley) MacDonnell went to Ireland and with his brothers was a mercenary warrior. They supplied the 0'Neill Chiefs with Galloglas Warriors, and who had, with other issue, a daughter, who married Brian MacMahon, King of Oriel. (www.clancleary.com)

He appears to have had at least two sons:

Donnell Mor killed in 1367
Marcus killed 1397
