Biography

Melvie Joyce was born in Ulmarra in 1921 she passed away in 2019 aged 98 years.

She is the first born daughter of Lancelot McGregor [1] and Myra Kratz. [1]

Melvie had 11 siblings, 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Of these siblings there were 3 sets of twins and her twin is Kenneth Clive McGregor [2]

Melvie married her husband Jack Thomas Wallbank [3] on the 9th Sept 1950 when she was 28 years old.

They had 6 children together, 2 daughters and 4 sons.

Melvie was laid to rest on 1 Mar 2019 at the Ulmarra Cemetery, Ulmarra NSW.

Melvie Joyce WALLBANK of Grafton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on 24th February, 2019, aged 98 years. Dearly loved wife of Jack (dec). Loving mother of Stephen, Christine, Phillip, Anthony (dec), David, Deborah and their families. Loved sister of Ken, Vic, Hector, Olive, Duncan, Ron, Faye, Fred, Daphne (all dec), Laurel and Elvie and fondly remembered aunt.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Melvie's funeral service, to be held at Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, Duke Street, Grafton, on FRIDAY (1st March), commencing at 1:00pm. The funeral will then proceed to the Ulmarra Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service are welcome and may be left at the service.
