Profile Changes/Corrections:
This profile was uploaded by Gedcom in c2013 with no sources.
MARJORY's profile was previously attached (as MARJORIE MacLennan) to father [William MacLennan-207] (b. 20 Sep 1807, Fodderty - d. 8 Sep 1891, Fodderty) whose original profile had three wives attached, unsourced. [MacLennan-207] was since merged into William McLennan retaining one verified spouse. Marjory (as Marjorie) MacLennan and her mother Marjory (as Marjorie) CAMPBELL were subsequently detached for lack of viable proof and no source citations other than the GEDCOM the Wiki Tree profiles were created from. The two uploaded profiles appear to have been randomly connected to William McLennan (formerly MacLennan - 207), b 20 Sept 1807, Fodderty, on an Ancestry.com tree before c2013, spreading across trees as an unsourced 'best guess', now widely copied; however, William McLennan b 20 Sept 1807 in Fodderty, is an unlikely parent given his youth at the time of Marjory's birth c1825.
Discovery:
Parents: Marjory's mother was Marjory Campbell, for whom no records have been identified other than her name, recorded in Marjory's death registry, as is the name of her father, William MacLennan. The informant was Marjory's grandson.
Her father appears to have been William McLennan b 1797, Urray, son of Duncan McLennan and Catherine McRae of Contin and Urray. Still, at this point, more information is desirable - acknowledging certainty may be unobtainable with available surviving records.
There are no birth records located for Majorie, Marjory, Mary, or May MacLennan b. c1825(+/-) to parents Marjorie m.s. Campbell and William MacLennan.
The death date and place cited in Marjory MacRae's death registry aligns with that of May McLennan (MacRae), wife of Malcolm MacRae of Contin, Ross-shire, buried at Strathconon Burial Ground, Milton, Highland (Ross and Cromarty area). [3]
Close record comparisons show that while it seems Marjory, Mary and Martha are the same individual, it also appears May is the same person: May's marriage record and headstone, citing her husband, child, death date and place coincides with Marjory's known locations, husband's name, child, and death registry. At this time, Marjory, Mary, Martha and May are considered as the same person.
It is not known where the profile's original first-name-spelling MARJORIE was derived.
