The 1871 census records a William Madden age 56 (b 1815) residing in Nepean and farming. It also records a Patrick Madden residing in Cumberland age 72 as a pensioner. Are these brothers to Ambrose? The Ontario Genealogical society directory of Surnames records reports that Ambrose emigrated to Canada in 1828 from either Montore, Old Castle Tipperary Ireland. He resided in Bathurst Carleton County from 1828-1874
