Ian Durling
Mr Dawson ( Coroner) held an inquest on the body of Abel Maddox, found drowned in the River George. Mr T Oldham was foreman. After hearing the evidence of Messrs Adams and Richards, also Sub Inspector Hall and Constable Moore, the following verdict was given :- Found drowned in the George River, having fallen in while suffering from temporary insanity. There were traces showing he had fallen down the steep bank for about 40ft and then slid into the river.
