Biography

Cynwrig Efell, Lord of y Glwysegl, and Einion Efell, Lord of Cynllaith in Denbighshire were illegitimate twin sons of Madog ap Maredudd, Prince of Powys, by Eva, daughter of Madog ap Urien of Maengwynedd. ^{[1] [2]}. He was living in 1160 and 1182. ^[3] He was also Lord of Croes Oswallt (Oswestry), Whittington and Mochnant . ^[4].

Family

Lloyd gives his wife as Arddan/Arthen ferch Madog Fychan ap Madog.

He had at least three sons:

• 1. Rhun (Ryn) ab Einion Efell (c1170-1242) of Cynllaith. For his descendants see "Archaeologia Cambrensis" 1885 5th ser vol 2 p. 100;
• 2. Owain ab Einion (b c 1170) of Cynllaith; and
• 3. Gruffudd ab Einion Efell (b c 1170)
