Biography

1686 Birth and Parents

Ninian Magruder was named in the 1710 will of his father Samuel. He was not included among those under 16 years of age, and therefore was over 16 in 1710 and was born 1794 or earlier. [1]

Papenfuse named him as a child of Samuel Magruder.[2]

Marshall estimates his birth as 1686, in Calvert County, Maryland. [3] [4]

1708 Marriage to Elizabeth Brewer

On 12 August 1712 in Prince George's County, Maryland, he married Elizabeth Brewer, b. 26 Oct 1690, All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel, Maryland, d. 1751, Frederick County, Maryland (Age 60 years) [4]

Alternatively, an SAR Application gives the marriage date as 10 Aug 1712 in Prince George's County, Maryland. [5]

The 1712 date conflicts, with the births of the earliest children, and the Clan Gregor society gives a marriage year of 1708. [6] [7]

1710 Inheritance

In his father's will, Ninian Magruder was to receive the "place that was my brother John Magruder's & 300 acres of upper part of Alexandria, plus share Lot #48 in Marlboro Town. [1]
