He was hired on contract on 22 may 1651 before the notary Choiseau from Tourouvre by Pierre Juchereau, sieur des Moulineaux, for the sum of 45 livres tournois per year in an engagement for the service of Jean Juchereau de More in Canada for a 5-year duration, and his arrival in Canada is estimated to have been in 1651.[10][33][13][8]
On 18 October 1664, during the first election of churchwardens, he was elected 3rd churchwarden of the parish of L'Ange-Gardien.[20] He did not hesitate to ligitate such concerns as related to his land's fence and stream.
He died and was buried in Beauport in 1717 on the 12th and 13th of May, respectively.[10][35][22][23] His wife Jeanne survived him until 24 June 1732. It is said that of Jeanne's four hundred pounds inheritance, half served to say prayers for her late husband.[36]
He might be the father of Marie-Anne Maheu[19] and the brother of Jacques, baptized on 5 August 1634 in Mortagne's Saint-Jean church in Perche province.[34]
Pierre Maheu had 260 descendants in 1729.[7]
Of all people with the last name Maheu or variations of that name, Pierre Maheu was the ancestor who bears the largest number of descendants. (Source needed.)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Pierre by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Pierre:

Pending resolution by concensus-building publicly here or otherwise, I am going to revert back to DOD on d. on 12 mai 1717 on basis of Fichier Origine, PRDH acte & Généalogie Québec/Drouin being in my view more influential than other sources.
A copy of the death act would resolve the issue nicely.

- POD, from 'Beauport, Quebec, Nouvelle France' to 'Beauport, Canada, Nouvelle France'.
Referring to PRDH Pionnier 51261, not only is it misleading to include diocese in POB field, but town of Mortagne was actually in Sées diocese. According to wikitree's Style Guide, location fields should only use historical names. As Beauport was distinct from Québec and Québec did not exist as a province of Nouvelle France, it is also incorrect to include Québec in POD field. Lastly, basic data fields should have been made consistent with Biographie text.

For length and area units see e.g. Les Lambert-Champagne-Aubin : 800 actes notariés, 1663-1799, Table de mesures, pp. 723 & 724:
Length units: la lieue de 84 arpents = 3,1 Milles = 4,99 km; l'arpent (de 10 perches) = 191,84 pieds anglais = 58,22 mètres
Area unit: l'arpent (de 100 perches carrées) = 0,846 acres = 0,342 hectares
