According to the Census of Canada 1881, Rachel was born about 1808 in Upper Canada and at that time was married to Lucas Tryon.[1] Earlier census records (1851, 1861) have her born 1799 or 1800. The latter are more reasonable considering she was mother of Caleb in 1822.
