Charles Arthur Manley was born on October 21, 1899 at Woodside NS to Arthur Manley and Janet Conrod.[1]
Manley, Charles Arthur - 93, 31 Marvin St., Dartmouth, died Oct 24, 1992, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Woodside, Halifax County, he was a son of late Arthur and Janet Manley. He was a member of Grace United Church, Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth. He was employed with the Halifax Shipyards for most of his working life, retiring in 1965 as foreman iron worker. He is survived by his wife, Pearl; daughter Hazel Cook, Kanata, ON; son, Arthur, Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Reginald and George, both of Dartmouth; 2 sisters, Susan Richard, Lillian Sievert, both of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grand children. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, William, Bernard, Harold; 3 sisters, Eva Dooks, Florence Dorey, Edith. The body had been cremated. A memorial service will be at 230pm Tuesday in Grace United Church, Rev. William Fraser officiating.[2]
