On March 22, 1650, John Garwood was granted 1000 acres in Nansemond Co for transporting twenty person to the colony. Among these 20 persons was this Thomas Mann. He had settled in Nansemond Co. about 1648. He moved to Isle of Wight Co. and was assigned land there in 1681. He lived the rest of his life on his Corowaugh Swamp plantation.[1]
