Biography

All his life his occupation was a cordwainer - a cordwainer is a shoemaker who makes fine soft leather shoes and other luxury footwear articles.

1841 census living with father Thomas and mother Mary on St. Catherine's St. Gloucester 1851 census living on Park St. Gloucester - occupation is cordwainer. 1861 census living at the Worcester Arms 28 Park St. as cordwainer and publican 1871 census living on Cross Keys Lane 1881 census lived at 18 Cross Keys Lane with wife Sarah - occupation 'boot binder'; and son Walter - occupation musician, violinist; and daughter Annie, cloth packer 1891 census lived with wife Sarah at 83 Barton St. Gloucester 1901 lived with son Frederick and at 75 still listed occupation as shoe maker

Mann-5006 and Mann-3658 do not represent the same person because: The marriages are different. Jeremiah Mann (Mann 3658) married Sarah Ann Evans on 5 Apr 1847 in Saint Nicholas, Gloucester, England. According to the 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, and 1891 census Sarah Ann remained his wife and was part of his household.
