"In the name of God Amen, I William Mann of Haywood County & State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory do make this my Last will and testament, to wit, I will my body to the earth from whence it came and my immortal to God who gave it. Secondly I will that all my Just debts Shall be paid out of my Estate. Thirdly I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Isabella Mann my lands and houses and young horde—my stock of Cattle, Hogs, Sheep & geese Withthere in? My house hold & Kitchen furniture together with all my farming utensils, to dispose of all or any of the above named Articles or any of them to her use and benefit during her natural life and at her death to disposed of them as she may think neet and proper. Fourthly. I bequeath to my several sons by name John, David, Robert, & James Mann one dollar Each to be paid out of my Estate at my death. Fifthly I give and bequeath to my son James Mann the Colt that is now Suckling, also give and bequeath to my wife all my notes and accounts of whatsoever they be—It is my will that my son John Mann if he thinks fir to take the Mare and use her well and raise a Colt from her for his own use. My Son David to do likewise if they &the Mare Should like till it is done I also give and bequeath to the Heirs of my son William Mann, Deceased ley name Elizabeth Mann one dollar I further will that my Worthy Friend? Edmonston this my Executor to the provisions of this my last will carried into Effect. In testimony whereof I have hereunto in the presence of the witnesses set my hand and affixed my seal August 18th day 1837 William S Berd, Jus N Edmonston William Mann"
