On Friday, November 11, 2011, Robert J. Mann went to be with the Lord after 90 years of a life well lived. Robert was born to Frank and Anna (Steffes) Mann on May 29, 1921 in West Chicago, Illinois. He married Jennie Lou Losh on February 19, 1949 in Mason, Ohio. Robert served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater, and was wounded in action receiving the Purple Heart. He devoted over 30 years of service in sales for National Cash Register and Data Terminals.
Throughout his career Robert served his community in different capacities. He enjoyed his years of service on the board at Stonehaven Senior Center, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Kansas City, Missouri and he served as an usher at the First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. One of his favorite past times in retirement was playing golf. After moving to Georgetown, Robert worked at Southwestern University Golf Course from 1995 to until his retirement in February of 2011. Bob loved the people he met at the golf course as well as the time spent playing golf. He was always proud of being able to "shoot his age". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and his happy expressions will be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jennie Lou, his son Robert Glen and his wife Rebecca, one granddaughter Christina (Mann) Hendrix and her husband Byron, along with two great-granddaughters Kinsey and Kaylee Hendrix.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vincent, Frank, and Leonard and one sister, Margaret.
