The Hinton Daily News and Leader, Hinton, West Virginia Saturday, February 25, 1916, page 4 Monroe County News Union, Feb 26. ~ Mrs Amanda Ellen Broyles, wife of Chris Broyles, was stricken with heart disease early last Monday morning Feb 2 [sic] at her home between Lindside and Wikel, this county and expired in a few moments. She had been troubled with rheumatism and a phase of heart affection for some time.
She is a daughter of George Alderson Mann 1821–1891 and Emily Amanda Halstead Mann 1823–1861.
She married Christopher Broyles 1845–1927 (m. 1867)
