Placido Mannina, named after his paternal grandfather, is born on 6 June 1862 in Corleone. He is the son of Gaetano Mannina and Antonina Finocchio.[1]
Gaetano remarries in 1883, indicating that Antonina has died by this time.
Placido marries Leoluchina Nieli, daughter of Bernardo Nieli and the late Antonina di Palermo, on 30 October 1887. The witnesses are Don Michaelangelo Zabbia and Biagio Mondello.[2]
Placido's father dies the following month at age 52 (b. 1835) on 18 November 1887.
Placido is killed at age 28 (b. 1862) on 20 April 1890. He is murdered in the night, in the fiefdom of Castro (Ex feudo Castro).[3], along with Angelo Grizzaffi. (The civil record of Angelo's death calls it the contrada Castro, the Castro land.) Placido's wife's sister, Maria Carmela, is married to Angelo.[4]
A week previous, an unidentified person was found murdered in another fiefdom (in Ex fendo inbriaca).[5]
