Wrote journals of her tours to Lake District 1781,to Oxford 1783 and hosted French emigre during French Revolution and was recipient of 30 letters from him starting in 1801 when he returned at the Peace of Amiens[1]
I have the original letters in my possession. The emigre's name was Joseph de Captan and he came from near Saint Sever, Landes, France. When he returned to his hometown he found his estate and possessions had been taken but he had the sense to marry a rich widow and later received appointments in the army.
