William was born around 1790. He was the son of William Manser and Elizabeth Hyder.[1] He married Sarah Crowhurst around 1818.
William, Sarah and some of their children emigrated to South Australia in 1839 on the ship Duchess of Northumberland.[2][3] Their daughter Mary died during the voyage.
