Biography

Thomas Mansfield, the son of Isaac Mansfield and Anna Ashley, was born on 25 Jul 1723, in Marblehead, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1] He was baptized on 25 Jun 1727, at the Second Congregational Church in Marblehead.[2]

Thomas, a resident of Salem in Essex County, married Rebecca Whittredge of Beverly on 25 Apr 1754, in Beverly, also in Essex County.[3] After their marriage, Thomas and Rebecca lived in Beverly, where they had three children, of whom one died in infancy and a second when about three or four years old:

  1. Thomas Mansfield (b. 17 May 1756;[4] bp. 23 May 1756, First Parish Church;[5] d. 1760)[6]
  2. Sarah Mansfield (bp. 19 Nov 1758, First Parish Church;[7] d. 1758)[8]
  3. Mercy Mansfield (b. 23 May 1761)[9]

Thomas Mansfield died in 1761, possibly at or near Martinique ("Martineco").[10]
