Joseph Mansfield , the son of Richard Mansfield and Gillian Drake, was born about 1637 and died November 15, 1692. He married Mary Potter, the daughter of William and Frances Potter. Joseph and Mary had ten children: Mary, Martha, Mercy, Silence, Elizabeth, Comfort, John, Joseph, Ebenezer, and Japhet.[1]

An undocumented birth date and location (February 27, 1636 in Exeter, Devon, England) have been removed from the data fields. They are noted here, as possible, but needing further research.
The death date, 15 November 1692 is recorded in the heading of his inventory which is recorded in New Haven in the June 1693 court session.[3] His inventory is not dated.
