Biography

Badorah was born in 1805. She was the daughter of Daniel Marble and Mehitable Smith.

Badorah married Hart Lee Marsh in 1822.[1] They had eight children.

In 1850, the family was in Perrysburg, Cattaraugus, New York.[2] By 1855, they moved to the Hanover and Irving area of Chautauqua county. They were on the 1855 Hanover, Chautauqua, New York census[3] and the 1860 Irving, Chautauqua county, New York census.[4] The 1865 census for Hanover listed her as born in Madison county, New York and that she was the mother of nine children.[5] She and Hart were on the 1870 Hanover, Chautauqua, New York census, living next to son Daniel Marsh.[6]

Hart passed away in 1873. In 1875, she was living in Hanover with her granddaughter Julia (Fuller) Watts and husband William Watts.[7] In 1880, Badora, listed as "Dora", was living with daughter Sophronia (Marsh) Fuller in Irving.[8]

She passed away in 1891 according to an obituary published in the Hanover (NY) Gazette:[9]

For the past two years she has been a great sufferer, and was confined to the house; and often said she was ready and willing whenever the summons came. She is the last member of a large family.
