Marcy, Mary Louise Birth: Feb. 16, 1928 Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York, USA Death: Apr. 17, 2007 Port Vincent, Livingston Parish, Louisiana, USA Fielder, Mary Marcy A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary died in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 9:20 p.m. after a lengthy and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was a native of Jamestown, N.Y., and a resident of Summerfield, near Port Vincent. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement, she belonged to two rosary groups, the Altar Society and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and was a hospice volunteer along with many other charitable groups. She was the dance instructor for the Foxy Trotters line dance group and a member of LaClog. She and her husband, Lonnie, founded the Amite River Cloggers. Survived by a daughter, Mary Beth; son, Michael Dan; granddaughter, Brittany Bourgeois and husband Josh; grandson, Dylan Stafford; sister, Sally Williams of Roanoke, Va.; brother, Wilson Marcy and wife Marcia of Buffalo, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dora and Tom Ledbetter of The Woodlands, Texas, and their family, and numerous friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie; parents, Wilson and Allene Gron Marcy; and niece, Susan Williams. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Airline Highway in Gonzales, was on Friday, April 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement on Saturday, April 21, from 10:30 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Jimmy Little. Burial in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jay Brooks, his nurse Michelle, Janeen Tarrow-Ouber, Odyssey Hospice Service and the many, many loving friends for their help, support and prayers.
