Lydia Marcy, born 3 Jan 1772, was a daughter of Zebulon Marcy Sr. (1744-abt.1834) and Jerusha (Conant) Marcy (1743-1819). The location of her birth is uncertain; the only reference source evident to date states that she was born in the Wyoming Valley (Wyoming or Luzerne Counties), Pennsylvania [1], where her birth family had settled after relocating from Connecticut.
She married 16 May 1791 at Tunkhannock (Wyoming County), Pennsylvania, Cyrus Avery. They had 13 children, born at Tunkhannock:
"After the marriage of Cyrus Avery and Lydia Marcy they settled on 500 acres at the confluence of the Tunkhannock and Susquehanna, on the south and east sides of the respective rivers; and later inclosed "Avery Mountain"."
above passage from Wyoming Bios.
Lydia (Marcy) Avery died 18 Jun 1817 at Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania.
