Biography

Peter Marion was a son of a Huguenot emigrant (1540-1790).

Peter Marion was the 3rd son of French Huguenot immigrant Benjamin Marion and his 2nd wife, Mary (Unknown). As his parents married shortly before 1710, Peter was most-likely born around 1715 on their plantation at St. James, Goose Creek Parish, Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA.

Apparently close to his next-older-brother, Paul Marion, Peter Marion owned land adjoining his brother's plantation near Wassamassaw Swamp in Berkeley County, South Carolina. He was noted as a "Widower," (wife's names Unknown) who died around November 1795 in Charleston, South Carolina, without any children. As Paul Marion had predeceased him by many years, it's not known who were his heirs but Paul had 2 sons (Paul & Peter) so it is likely they inherited their uncle's estate. [1]
