Little is known of Mary, Elizabeth, Anne and Judith, the 4 daughters of French Huguenot immigrant to South Carolina, Benjamin Marion and his 2nd wife, Mary (Unknown) Marion. The 3 of them are listed in an article about the Marion family, focusing on General Francis Marion, the celebrated American Revolutionary War patriot and hero, who harassed British forces occupying the Southern Colonies between 1775 and 1782. Francis' three aunts [half aunts as he descended from Benjamin's 1st wife; Judith (Baluet) Marion] are known to have existed but that is about all. Mary is believed to have been the oldest, born ca. 1711, then Judith in about 1716 (with some brothers in-between), then Elizabeth around 1723, and finally Anne, the youngest, b: ca. 1727. [1]
Anne Marion was born about 1727 on her parents' plantation at St. James, Goose Creek Parish, Berkeley County, English Province of South Carolina. She was the youngest child and 4th daughter of Benjamin Marion, a French Huguenot immigrant to South Carolina, and his 2nd wife, Mary (Unknown) Marion. Her parents died in 1735 (Benjamin Marion) and 1750 (Mary Unk. Marion), both in Berkeley County, South Carolina.[2]
Nothing more is known of the life of Anne Marion, b: ca. 1727 in South Carolina. Please add any information and correct any estimated date errors.
