(212) Dal. Smith qualifies admr. of Henry Lawrence, decd. (formerly granted to Jacob Sivers, now decd), it appearing to the Court that Windle Sivers, heir-at-law, refused to take burden of goods not administered. Rosanna Ralston and her husband, Wm. Ralston, being persons of ill-fame--bound to peace.

1769 Rosannah Marlin and her two sons, James and William were thrown into jail for having burned down the home of their closest neighbor, John Dering. At their trial 11 July 1769, she was aquited for lack of evidenct but she was put back into jail until someone would come and bail her out.
Rosannah Ralston widow of William Ralston, married older man, Richard Marlin/Merley. Rosanna had four children: William, James, Sarah and Margaret. Source: The Augusta Co. VA. Court Records, Chalkley's Volume 1, ages 445 and 82 respectively have these enteries;

4 Nov. 1758 "John Elliot complains, 4 Nov. 1758 he suspects, Rosanna Ralston wife of William Ralston of having stolen from him"

16 Nov. 1758- "Rosanna Ralston and her husband, William Ralston, being person of Ill-fame---bound to peace"

20 Aug. 1766 "Rosanna Marlen complains that Maurice O'Friel and Robert Wallace detain her children viz: James, Sarah andMargaret Ralston" After Richard Marlin's marriage his wife, Rosanna embroiled him in numerous lawsuits with various citizens in Mt. Jackson area.
