Biography

Richard was born 12 July 1856 in Blackburn, England. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

There is a Blackburn, Yorkshire and a Blackburn, Lancashire, England. Records so far don't show which county. [7]

Richard arrived in November 1862 in Portland, Maine[8]. His naturalization certificate number was 5-181 [9]. He was naturalized on 7 Sept 1880. [10]

Richard's mother and father were born in England. [11]

He immigrated to the US in 1859, and was naturalized before 1900. [12] or more likely 1862 [13] .

Abram petitioned the Superior Court of Portland, Maine on 7 September 1880 for naturalization. [14]

In 1880 he was a boarder living in Windham, Maine. He was living with his son Abram (Abraham) and daughter Annie M. His wife isn't listed on the Census though.

His and Etta's first child (so far) was Abram who was born in 1876. He would have been 20.
