Fiftieth Anniversary

The following quotation is from an article published in February, 1925 in the Daily Nonpareil [1]:

Mr. Marsden is an extensive land holder, owning 520 acres of the best land in Montgomery County. He has made a success of farming. When he came to this county in 1881 he purchased 240 acres in the Stratton community for $25 an acre; later purchased 160 acres for $50 an acre and again purchased 120 acres at $50 an acre. Mr Marsden confesses that it would take considerable more money to purchase his land holdings than what he paid for them. He helped to build the Stratton school when he first came to this county and had a part in building two church bildings know as the Stratton church, the fist building being destroyed by fire.

Mr. and Mrs. Marsden are hale and hearty and were enjoying life to its fullest on their golden wedding day.
